NEW TIME: By popular demand, the Apartment Investor Breakfast meetup now begins 30 min. earlier, at 7:30 instead of 8:00, to accommodate members of the Apartment Association of New Mexico, which holds it's "Independent Owner's Forum" on the same mornings as our meetups (at 9:00).
DONATIONS NOW REQUIRED: For now on, ALL our Meetups will require a $10 donation, even if there is no speaker (plus your breakfast bill). The donation must be paid in advance here on Meetup when you RSVP: Sorry, NO CASH or day-of-meeting payments are accepted. (Sorry, we just don't have a way to process it.) It will be refunded if the Meetup is canceled. We donate all proceeds to St. Martin's Hopeworks, https://www.hopeworksnm.org/, which provides services to the homeless. We are implementing this policy for all our meetups in order to reduce the number of RSVPed guests who don't show up...as we've seen with other Meetups, the no-show rate is about 0% when someone has to put out a little money to RSVP vs. 50% when we don't ask for a donation. In other words, a donation sorts out the "maybes" from the "definitelys." (Seating is limited to about 20, and, as we are often full, we need to have a firm count of CONFIRMED attendees to make sure we don't exceed that and to advise the restaurant what to expect.)
THIS MONTH: Apartment Investor Breakfast meetup won't feature a speaker, but is a networking session for those interested in multifamily investing. We'll "meet and greet," other investors, share our current projects, analyze each other's possible deals, and share our "Have and Wants" as they pertain to apartment and mobile home park investing in New Mexico.
We will be analyzing an apartment deal, details on the facebook site prior to the meetup. This is a good practice but also could prove to be a viable deal. We hope to provide possible deals but also great education from speakers in the local commercial real estate arena.
