Biking Along the Columbia Trail

Details
Join us for a 30-mile scenic ride along the Columbia Trail, an abandoned RR bed. Trail surface is crushed stone and flat. Enjoy some excellent views of Ken Lockwood Gorge and beautiful farmlands. We will begin in Long Valley on the recently up-graded trail to Bartley Road, loop back to LV to continue to High Bridge and return. We may take the lower trail back along the gorge - lovely to pass the water and watch the fisherman. Keep your eyes peeled for the TROLLS. There are no concessions along the route; bring snacks, lunch, water, patch kit/extra tube, and a hybrid/mountain bike. Helmet is mandatory! Rain cancels. Meet at 10:00am. Trail parking is directly across the road from Somerset Hills Bank, 24 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley [GPS coordinates for the parking lot: N40.78681; W074.78037]
If lot is full, there is additional parking adjacent to the bank's parking lot.
Optional after-hike refreshment stop at local eatery.
