Automate with WordPress + IFTTT w/ Elliot Christenson

Make the web work for you by using tools to automate things you do every day.

Elliot Christenson will be giving a little demonstration of IFTTT and other tools that can be used to automate web processes. It'll be a brief, tip-filled presentation, so if you are new to web automation tools, come ready with questions and note-taking!

This is really easy - probably beneath most of you - but it's a nice easy way to tiptoe into 2014.

The best content comes from smart, busy people - and those people can spend more time making great content if they can spend less time worrying about the grunt-work.

Elliot will demo the setup for IFTTT on the website, for instance. If we don't make the machines our slaves, the Matrix will never happen. How boring would that be?

Please invite your friends to this - even non-WordPress (or even "web") experts can gain. "Geeks" and "Noobs" alike should benefit from discussing automation!

Matthew Straub from the AvenueHQ has been generous to open up his coworking space to us for free after the meetup. If you want to work with other awesome WordPressers (& other awesome non-WordPressers) I highly recommending working from the AvenueHQ for at least a little while after the meetup.

Extremely useful presentation (I'm already seeing several valuable uses for IFTTT in my web projects), beautiful visuals in the presentation... all we were missing was a Skype-in report from Patrick at the Cactus League WordCamp! Did anyone catch the discount coupon code for IFTTT?

    Thanks again Elliot!

Well-designed Keynote Presentation. The info on IFTTT was well organized and delivered. Elliot seems to really know his stuff. Great conversation. I'm loving this group!

Please RSVP to our separate-but-related Meetup if you'll be coworking with us afterward! Looking forward to seeing the group again – I haven't been able to make a Meetup in a while.
