Ethereum's Web3.js + Christmas.js // Joint Meetup

We are delighted to announce our first ABOOF event. We will be holding a joint event with the London Node Workshops group (https://www.meetup.com/NodeWorkshops). We'll be having a look into the Ethereum Blockchain's Web3.js library courtesy of R_Block ( https://rblock.co/ ).Unfortunately, Daryn can no longer attend. However, we have some other speakers that have kindly offered to step in last minute; Ali Azam and Christophe Popov.

For this event, we are raising money for Kids Code Club again. There's an optional donation of £3.00 on this JustGiving page (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/node-workshops-october). If you don't wish to donate, then please just let us know while registering for the event...

Doors open at 6:30pm for drinks and chatter. Pizza will arrive at 6:45pm and the talks will kick off at 7pm. The talks will last 45mins. Then there will be a chance to network with refreshments afterwards.

R_Block is a Blockchain based referencing platform. A semi-anonymous, decentralised hiring network & career ledger. R_Block will be giving the Node Workshops group a technical overview of their platform and an under the hood demo. R_Block is a Node.js implementation of the Web3.js Ethereuem Blockchain library. This will be a beginner level overview on how to navigate Web3.js.

Ali has kindly agreed to step in last minute. Ali is a Blockchain developer and research leader at Kings College London. Ali will be giving a short 5-10 minute talk on "A beginners guide to developing in Ethereum".

Chris is a software consultant & CTO. He started his career as a software engineer at companies like; C4, British Gas and the FT and now works as a CTO at Football Index. A strong advocate of Agile, Lean and MBA educated. Chistophe will be speaking about Football Index quickly and then talking about a betting platform based on Smart contracts on Ethereum platform.
