What we're about
Meet local Arabic language and Islam lovers and make friends for you and your kids! Have fun making friends for yourself and kids, practicing with your kids Arabic alphabets and vocabularies, and having indoors and outdoors playgroups.
We host a variety of meetups, the following are some:
1. When program is active, we meet weekly for 2 hours at Sully Adams Center in Chantilly, VA for indoor activities and at parks, museums, etc for outdoor activities. Our main goal is to enrich kid's Arabic vocabulary in an Arabic immersion environment through fun activities such as kids songs, vocabulary games, arts and crafts, and more. We try to make our activities interesting for kids with different learning styles: visual, auditory, and tactile.
This is a mommy-and-me meetup so moms will have to guide their kids during activities. Many of our volunteers are fluent in Arabic/English, however, only Arabic is encouraged during our meetup to help obtain our goal. Arabic speakers will happily aid those who need help with Arabic. Moreover, this educational playgroup will have other meetups, such as field trips to local parks, museums & farms, in-home playdates, playground visits, picnics, and more.
2. We have ongoing Arabic alphabets and Quraan classes that teach kids how to read Arabic using the help of certified Noorani Method teachers and teachers with Ijazah in Quraan. These classes provide limited seats and are first-come-first-registered.
Please join us and give your children an opportunity to have fun in an Islamic atmosphere, speak and hear Arabic, make new friends, and develop new skills through play.
