What we're about
Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It’s intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments.
It’s like a little computer you can program to do things, and it interacts with the world through electronic sensors, lights, and motors. In essence, it makes some truly hardcore electronics projects accessible to anyone – so artists and creative types can concentrate on making their ideas a reality. It’s the ultimate tinkering tool!
For someone who doesn’t know about electronics or microcontrollers, this sounds cool and fun, and you’ll want to join this club. This is the type of stuff kids of all ages want to make — you can even trick them into learning some things along the way. These are the projects science fiction stories are made of, the things gadget sites blog about. What do all of these have in common? They’re ideas that usually wouldn’t actually happen, things we normally just dream about. But now these fantastic ideas are brought to life, and it’s very likely a non-engineer made them.
Welcome to our Meetup!
PS: We encourage/use multiple microcontroller platforms such as Raspberry Pi, C.H.I.P, Beagle Bone, Photons, etc, etc...bring 'em all!
