It is our commitment that we do this as safely as possible and therefore we will be looking to do this with COVID-19 Safe practices which apply to everyone attending the walk.

  1. We ask that only those who feel healthy, do not have a fever and are not coughing, sneezing, or have cold-like symptoms of any kind attend this meetup. We also reserve the right to decline the request of anyone wanting to join the walk having apparent signs of illness.

  2. Wearing a mask is optional and you're free to wear one while we are on our walk.

  3. Before we go on the walk, we will be asking for your name and phone number in order to support contact tracing in the event that this would be an issue. We will not use your phone number for any other purpose. If you can send us a message with your phone number before the meetup that would be great!

  4. We also recommend that everyone practice good handwashing to keep clean and healthy.

Please note, this is an outdoor and is weather dependent so stay tuned for updates closer to the walk. Generally we will walk only if it’s at or above -10. If we do need to cancel the physical walk, we will aim to do a virtual event in lieu of the physical walk. We are 100% open to any suggestions, feedback, and questions you may have so please do reach out to us.

Guided Walking Tour, historic Memorial Park Library and the Beltline Area

Hi, everyone, please join me for a guided walking tour around Central Memorial Park and the Beltline community with a quiet peek inside the historic Memorial Park Library at 12 Avenue and 2 Street SW.

We'll explore other buildings in Beltline, too, after we meet on Sunday when City of Calgary meter and street parking are cost-free.

I’ll be on the steps of the library at 3 pm, where the steps are shown in the photo above. We’ll begin walking after we introduce ourselves and I talk briefly about the Library’s history. I will share the history of other buildings in the area as we walk. Dogs on a leash are welcome but are not allowed in the buildings.

If we see a day of heavy rain, hail, or flooding, please check this site to see if the walk will still proceed or if it will go ahead another day. Please call me with any questions at (403)[masked] before the event or on the event day.

Please join us if you feel healthy, are not feverish, coughing, sneezing, or experiencing cold-like symptoms of any kind. Face masks are optional. We reserve the right to ask anyone showing signs of illness to walk with us another time. We may ask for full names and phone numbers for contact tracing purposes if COVID is a concern.

VIRTUAL Conversation and Book Discussion - A New Earth - Eckhart Tolle

Link visible for attendees

We'd like to invite you to a new kind of Arise and Shine Activity. We are creating virtual conversations to share positive energy, hope and inspiration in a different way.

Each week, we'll begin with a general discussion about each other's well-being and then in the second part, we share thoughts on the latest chapters of a book we're all reading together. You can join us at any time even if you haven't read the book and members have found they can still get a lot out of the discussion.

We choose books based on the consensus of all the members of the group at the time when we finish each book. All the books we read are related to healthy living, mindfulness, mental health, and overall well-being and everyone is open to making suggestions.

We want to create a safe space for everyone and so we ask that anyone who joins us agrees to keep what is shared confidential.

Also, we would like to state that we, the organizers, are not mental health professionals and are simply people who feel passionately about creating a community around mental health, physical fitness and sharing positive energy.

Due to restrictions on the length of free zoom calls we will only be keeping the line open for 30 minutes.

The zoom link will be made available to you when you RSVP to this event and we look forward to connecting with you soon!
