El Barrio Street Art Tour

Barrio Cafe

Looking for something to do on MLK day. Join us! Step into "Little Mexico" and get the grit on Mexican Muralism and the exploding Phoenix Street Art Scene. We'll check out the murals behind El Barrio Cafe and get schooled on the local artists and terms like street writing, graffito and low brow. We'll move onto some back alleys that expose some of the more controversial political views surrounding the Latino and Hispanic population the take a break for a cool treat at the Michuacan Ice Cream Shop. A quirky highlight will be at "The HIve" , an uber local neighborhood gallery buzzing with art from the neighborhood or specially invited guests. Cost is $6.00 that you can pay at the event. If you sign up please come. So far we have only had 2 no shows this season. Awesome!!! I will be leaving right after to get to another event, but if you have never eaten at the award winning Barrio Cafe now's your chance! Looking forward to seeing all of you! We''ll meet on the sidewalk beside the parking lot of Barrio Cafe. It is on Windsor just west of 16th Street. You can park along Windsor as well.

Phoenix Legends Bike Tour

Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza


Starting at the Wesely Bolin Plaza let delve into the great stories of Phoenix! We wander down the majestic Washington and Jefferson streets flanking the Arizona Capital Museum, explore "the other side of the tracks" gritty warehouse district, cut through the central corridor and swing along Grand Avenue and back to where we started. You can either bring your own bike or use one that I will provide. If you will be using one of mine there will be an additional fee as I will be renting them for you. Stops include: Wesely Bolin Plaza Arizona Capital Museum Pioneer Cemetery Ice House Historic Union Station Former Shriner's Building Bentley Gallery Talking Stick Arena Chase Field Washington Carver Museum (outside) Masonic Lodge "West side" of Central and as always....more! Fees are as follows: $18.00 if you are renting a bike and helmet from me. I can currently only provide 2 bikes via this route. You must pay through meetup if you go this route because I need to rent them ahead of time. $6.00 if you are bringing your own bike and helmet. You do have the opton to rent a GRID Bike as well but recently that have been somewhat unreliable. www.gridbikes.com Free Parking is available in the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. There is a GRID Bike Hub there as well. The location window is not working on meetup. So please google Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. We will be at the west end closest to the capital building.
