Volunteering with Hostelling International-USA If you have travel experience (domestic and/or international) and public speaking skills, we'd like to talk to you about volunteering with HI-USA! Please visit http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp1254981.jsp for more information on volunteering in your area. We look forward to connecting with local intrepid travelers who can help us offer a wide variety of free travel education classes and workshops throughout Arkansas. Topics include World Travel 101, Women Traveling Solo, Europe on a Shoestring, and many country specific presentations. Thanks for your interest in helping HI-USA get this new group started so we can all travel well informed in 2013! -- Dawn Dawn Boudreaux, Regional Engagement Manager Hostelling International-USA
Group Road Trip to New Orleans, LA...only 7 hours away! For those of us located in Little Rock, we only live 7 hours from New Orleans, Louisiana. Let's take a road trip together for a fun, long weekend! We'll carpool, split the gas, and stay in one of the local hostels while exploring the unique history, culture, food, and music that makes the Big Easy one of America's top destinations. Note: everyone is responsible for paying in full for their own lodging, transportation, food, drink, and incidentals. Interested in going? There's always something going on in N'Awlins! If you have a date preference or you're able to drive, please list details in the comments below and we'll start the planning process for 2017!
Help the Arkansas Travel & Events Club Meetup grow by sharing your ideas and/or volunteering in 2017! This group is about you and what you want to do! We're seeking additional volunteer co-organizers who want to help with some of the following ideas: * Host weekly / biweekly / monthly gatherings to informally share travel stories and tips with other travelers over a meal or drinks * Teach Travel Education classes (ex: Women Traveling Solo, Europe on a Shoestring, Budget Travel, How to Hostel, and your own country specific class) * Attend local cultural events and festivals as a group in the Little Rock area * Organize a group trip (did you know there are hostels in 50+ US cities including New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco as well as smaller communities including several in parks and lighthouses on both coasts?) Please share your ideas for Meetups below. Happy New Year!
Be a part of history... Our next event will be in Spring 2015 when we will be honoring Judge Buddy Villines. * acquire sponsors for our events * write grants * write, edit, and send out press releases * sell commemorative bricks to friends and neighbors. We have forms on our website. * general assistance for current board members If these ideas appeal to you, please contact Linda Fordyce at[masked] or [masked] for a volunteer application.
