This meetup is for anyone who has bipolar disorder or depression whether you are just getting diagnosed or you are tweaking the final parts of your life to gain stability. This is a social group, not a support group. We will participate in activities that promote wellness. Great conversation over coffee, hiking, yoga, photography excursions, drawing, painting, going to the movies, playing board games, going to museums, you name it!
I hope that members will feel more validated, understood, and appreciated socializing with people who have been through and have felt similar things. We will try new creative activities so we feel more well-rounded. We will vary our activities so no one feels like the only fun things to do in this area revolve around drinking heavily and staying up late -- which are both big "no-no's" if you're bipolar.
My hope is to create a group where there are no judgments or filters. Blurt out exactly how you feel and what you think. Is anyone else tired of only spending time with people who truly don't understand your trauma, your way of thinking, your life?? Let's band together as misfits and take back our confidence, happiness, and identities.
