Do you ever get lonely working remotely? Struggle to find the motivation to get to work when no one else around you is working?
Then join us for Coworking Days! This is a group for people who work remotely but would like to do so in the proximity of other human beings! We'll set times and places where group member can meet to work in the same space as one another. This will, primarily, be a time to get work done so *do* introduce yourselves to one another and make periodic small talk but *don't* come expecting to actively socialize all day!
For those unfamiliar with the concept of coworking, Wikipedia defines it as “a social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with people who value working in the same place alongside each other.”
For our first coworking day, we'll meet at Philz Coffee in Ballston. I'll try to get there right at 9 to reserve table space for as many people as RSVP.
Some coworking ground rules:
- Introduce yourself
- Make small talk throughout the day,
- Respect each other (i.e., before starting a conversation with a fellow "coworker", check in to see if they are able to chat at that moment) and the venue we are in (i.e., order something, tip the staff, etc).
