What we're about

We gather to discuss and read interesting topics in Philosophy! Although the majority of writers we will review are European and American, we are open to texts from other cultures. Representative philosophers have included Plato, Averroes, Descartes, Spinoza, Hobbes, Kant, Hegel, Sartre, and Foucault. We cover the Modern Intellectual Traditions from Descartes to Derrida but will link back to ancient and medieval . Our group is both study group and book club. The backgrounds of our members can include anyone who philosophy as we cover topics. This club is open for anyone who has an interest in philosophy including someone who have never taken a philosophy course or anyone who has a doctorate or graduate degree in Philosophy or any other interesting Liberal Arts field. Meetings are usually held at the Arlington Library in DC, on the First Sunday of each month.
