What we're about

Workshopping with other authors will help you take your writing to the next level. We value constructive criticism and feedback, and we feel every writer has a unique perspective we can learn from. If you have a problem or concern with your current work, or if you want to test it out in a supportive but honest environment, then this is the group for you!

Armadillo Authors Workshop is open to all styles and classifications in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, theater, blogging, and business correspondence—absolutely anything involving the written word!

We meet every Thursday at Duck and Decanter, where you can order sandwiches, snacks, beer, and wine. https://www.duckanddecanter.com/contact

Writing Workshop - Group Feedback Session

Duck and Decanter

Bring your current writing projects in any style to get constructive, honest feedback and help solving whatever problems you might be confronting as a writer and author. We read aloud, from printed copies, excerpts of our works-in-progress. If your work is longer than 2,200 words, please bring only an excerpt of it. Longer works may be read over multiple sessions. Check the RSVP list to estimate how many copies to bring. RSVP CLOSES AT 5PM on the day of the meeting so everyone has time to print enough copies. We usually have 6-12 people attending. Bring stapled, double-spaced manuscripts with page numbers. They give us space to write comments and suggestions for you. Our primary concern is not saving paper but getting good feedback. If you are joining us for the first time, ask the staff for the Armadillo Authors Workshop. We will most likely be upstairs. We welcome all styles and genres of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoirs, plays, blogs, correspondence, marketing copy, book descriptions, or any other written words you need feedback on. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Organizer, Matthew, via email: [masked]
