I won't add more of the synopsis, because I think this story is like a present that unwraps itself, and the element of surprise is part of the experience. I would advise not reading too much about the plot before you read it.

I'm very excited to be sharing this book with you all, because when I read it last year, it moved me on quite a profound level, and inspired me to read several other books by Tayari Jones. I enjoyed them all, but, will say that in my opinion, this is clearly her masterpiece.
