What we're about
Art Purge events are opportunities to gather in a safe setting to release pain and manifest holistic healing (as opposed to "curing") through a variety of artistic expressions. We make music, explore movement, create visual art, dramatize, and write as means of accessing and "purging" struggles that sometimes feel unsafe or impossible to express in more conventional ways. Then, we create and pursue personal visions of wholeness, despite external challenges or past wounds. This is not Art Therapy, where someone with special training asks you to create something specific ("Draw a house with a family standing outside") and then analyzes the end product ("That tall man in a red shirt represents repressed anger toward your father") in order to form a diagnosis. Rather, your healing is self-directed through the meditative experience of the creation process itself, and the significance of your creative products are up to your own ongoing interpretation.
