About us
This group is for artists, creatives or anyone who has an appreciation for cultural arts.
We'll meet at various venues throughout the city to share our love and passion for the arts with individuals who have the same passion or just enjoy being around creatives.
Many events will have art, music, and live painting. We look forward to seeing you at our next meetup.

August 22: Beaded Bezels with Amy Castine
Artistic Artifacts, 4750 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, VA, USAmy Castine will teach you the the peyote bezel shown in Liz Kettle's book, First Time Beading on Fabric, plus two additional Bezeling techniques! A$25 kit fee is included in your registration fee and includes all beading supplies needed. Amy’s previous Beginning Beading class is not a prerequisite for this class, but a beginning knowledge of beading is helpful so you can immediately begin working. If you have previously taken Amy’s class, this new class is an ideal opportunity to bring your in-progress beaded book and add a bezeled cabochon to the cover. If there is a certain type of cabochon you want to bezel in the future, bring it along and Amy can help you plan the best method to do so. Make Your Mark with Seth Apter
Artistic Artifacts, 4750 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, VA, USJoin Seth Apter for a one-day workshop, creating mixed media collages that focus on abstract but meaningful shapes, symbols, and marks. Instead of representational objects or words to express meaning, we will instead use marks and symbols. Beginning by creating backgrounds with the Gel Plate using paint and ink, guided creative exercises to build your vocabulary in mark making and to understand the meaning behind your go-to symbols will take place. From there we move on to adding our marks to the artwork, using many of the core processes of mixed media: stamping, stenciling, mark making, and collaging. The discoveries you experience enhance the artwork created in your own practice, perhaps even providing a new form of language that you can use for creative expression.
