(SOLD OUT) Phipps Holiday Magic! Winter Flower Show & dinner option

The holiday season isn't complete without a visit to Phipps. Beginning November 19, 2021 through January 9, 2022, the Phipps Holiday Magic! Winter Flower Show https://www.phipps.conservatory.org/calendar/detail/holiday-magic has an elegant theme of Sparkle and Shine with dazzling new displays of holiday trees, topiaries, exquisitely detailed props, and signature floral delights, including amaryllis, orchids and more than 1,600 poinsettias.

Phipps outdoor Winter Light Garden has luminous orbs, trees, fountains, a tunnel of lights and an all-new glowing ice castle display that will mesmerize guests of all ages.

In addition to all-new indoor displays, the show has been updated with many exciting new features:

• a Victorian holiday display that transports guests back to the opening of Phipps in December 1893, with oversized topiary ornaments hanging above and an 8-foot decorated tree rotating in a chiming music box;
• a reflective wonderland featuring sparkling ornaments, mirrored tree toppers and twinkling silver trees among elegant beds of red, white and green plants;
• a 9-foot-tall holiday tree in the center of an elegant rotunda surrounded by decorated trees floating atop the reflective Victoria pond;
• a fun, nontraditional display with a color scheme inspired by iridescence in nature, featuring trees decorated with ornaments arranged in a gradient of colors from blue to green to yellow to pink;
• a whimsical display featuring topiary reindeer, a holiday tree made up of 50 anthurium plants, an archway composed of wreaths and holiday trees decorated with ornaments created by local middle and high school students through the Fairchild Challenge;
• a grand finale that takes you on a supersized journey through oversized gifts and toys under a canopy of colorful string lights;
• a new addition to Winter Light Garden that transforms the Discovery Garden pavilion into a glowing ice palace

The new Garden Railroad: Bridges and Tunnels display features miniature recreations of iconic western Pennsylvania scenes and fun, interactive features at every stop.

The Phipps Tropical Forest Cuba exhibit will be accentuated with 250 feet of lights — including pink globe lights, illuminated trees and pendant lights.

This is also a great opportunity to check out glass sculptures from internationally-renowned glass artists Dale Chihuly and Hans Godo Fräbel on permanent display throughout Phipps Conservatory.

Daily hours for the Winter Flower Show are 9:30 am – 11 pm for most days.

Please note that advanced timed tickets are designed to assist visitors and avoid waiting lines. An advanced timed ticket is an admission ticket with a specific date and time of arrival. By ordering timed tickets, you’re letting Phipps know the date and time that you will be visiting to help ensure the best experience for every guest while maintaining appropriate social distancing.

Please note that on some days when Phipps isn't busy, people may be able to buy timed advance tickets using their cell phones shortly before their arrival.

However, for December 20 planning purposes, it is recommended that people order advance tickets before December 3 to minimize the chance of a sellout https://www.phipps.conservatory.org/online-tickets

Phipps has made this advanced ticket ordering process very simple, as visitors can see (in real time) if/when various arrival times (based on half hour intervals) are sold out, or if tickets are still available as visitors can do a quick test to see if at least 10 tickets remain for each half hour interval for a given arrival time.

MEETUP Considerations Depending on the weather, RSVP response, etc., we may also plan for dinner/drinks (perhaps at 6 PM) at The Porch in Schenley Park https://www.dineattheporch.com/schenley/menu or Café Phipps.

Once inside Phipps, visitors can stay as long as they'd like so they can take breaks Café Phipps, Gift Shop, etc. Thus, it is OK for those that wish to arrive earlier and then meet the rest of the group.
