What we're about

ArtNet (The Arlington Artist Network Meetup) is a group of creative spirits! Some of our members have been professionally trained and others are self taught. Some members are full time professional artists and others simply dabble in the arts to fill that creative need. What is a fact is that we each bring something special to the table and we leave a better person, with new friends, new ideas, and new techniques! It is a wonderful way to network with others in the field and find new avenues to get our work out there for others to see! We meet in Arlington Heights the last Tuesday of each month. At present we have 161 members with meeting attendance running between 12 and 20. Our activities are almost always "hands-on" and have included: portrait drawing, painting with acrylics, photography, sculpting with clay, wire sculptures, and collage work, to name just a few... We are also involved in outreach projects! We created books (150 total) that went to Kibera, Africa and we are presently working on a 2016 community outreach project for people in our community! There are also opportunities to be a part of a number of different juried gallery showings though our group, as well! Our members come from all over: the Wisconsin border, Chicago, and Dupage County to name a few! This group was started in 2005 and became part of the Meetup network in 2012! Everyone is welcome, so come and see what we are all about! For more info, contact Sue Thomson at spiritualfocusphotography@gmail.com!
