What we’re about

ArtNet Meetup is a group of creative spirits!  Some of our members have been professionally trained and others are self taught.  Some members are full time professional artists and others simply dabble in the arts to fill that creative need.  What is a fact is that we each bring something special to the table and we leave a better person, with new friends, new ideas, and new techniques!  It is a wonderful way to network with others in the field and find new avenues to get our work out there for others to see! We meet iat Southminster in Arlington Heights the last Tuesday of each month. Our activities are almost always "hands-on" and have included: Oil Pastels, Acrylics, Photography, Working with clay, wire, and foam, alcohol Inks, collage work, to name just a few...  We are also involved in outreach projects!  We created books (150 total) that went to Kibera, Africa.  We will be working on a 2020 project to creat on Art Alley on Arlington Heights road by George Street.  There are also opportunities to be a part of a number of different juried gallery showings though our group, as well!  This group was started in 2005 and became part of the Meetup network in 2012! Everyone is welcome, so come and see what we are all about! For more info, contact Sue Thomson at suethomsonart@gmail.com.
