VISIT TO ARTIST'S STUDIO - Share your art and wisdom, be inspired by others
FIELD TRIP TO ARTIST'S STUDIO in addition to our normal meeting! Meet at 11:30 at the corner of Vanowen and Indepence (between Canoga Blvd. and Desoto on Vanowen) at the Arco Station. We will stay there until 11:40, and then walk across the street to the private residence of our Guest Artist. Share your art - share your wisdom. Be inspired by other creative women! In dynamic circle we will take time to share where we are with our creative process, what inspires us, what inhibits us. Bring a piece of art - finished or in process. Come with questions, seek feedback, be witnessed. We explore what it means to be creative and how creativity supports our mental, physical and spiritual lives. Our meetings are informed by Julia Cameron's seminal book "The Artists Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity." We meet on the 1st Friday from 11:30am - 1:30pm Suggested $5 donation. Tea and water available.

What we're about

Women coming together to share their art (writing, painting, photography etc..). Based loosely on the teachings of Julia Cameron's Artists Way, we come together to support our creative expression. As women we will create a space that inspire each of us as artists.

"In order to make art we must first make an artful life, a life rich enough and diverse enough to give us fuel. We must strive to see the beauty where we are planted, even if we are planted somewhere that feels very foreign to our own nature. In New York, I must work to connect to the parts of the city that feed my imagination and bring me a sense of richness and diversity instead of mere overcrowding and sameness. In California, my friend must work to do the same. We must as the elders advise us, bloom where we are planted. If we later decide that we must be transplanted, that our roots are not in soil rich enough for our spirits, at least we have tried. We have kept hold of the essential thread of our consciousness, the "I" that gives as the eye to behold." -from THE SOUND OF PAPER- Julia Cameron
