Georgia O’Keeffe carefully decorated her home and studio, blending art and design in a way that turned her space into an artist’s sanctuary.
Inspired by the thought of bringing special objects into our homes, spend a relaxing Saturday morning making your own ceramic candle lantern. In this workshop, participants will learn various techniques, including hand-building and piercing processes. The natural clay color (ivory white) will be our inspiration to reflect O’Keeffe’s designs and color palette in her home and studio.

Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed their communities.

Please join us for the inaugural Santa Fe Empty Bowls event where we will be feasting with our community and raising money for the GroundUp! program at the Santa Fe Teen Center. The GroundUp! program supports local food security by facilitating farming education and empowering teen stewards to sustainably grow fresh produce with and for their local community.

Here’s what to expect:

✨ Choose your favorite hand-crafted bowl made by local artists.
🍲 Fill it with delicious soup from Santa Fe’s favorite restaurants.
🤝 Sit down, share a meal, and be part of a growing movement that supports youth-led food security through the GroundUp! program — empowering teen stewards to sustainably grow fresh produce for our community.

Harnessing the Energy of Place: Plein Air Mandala Workshop in Lamy, NM

Come join me, Saturday, April 7th , for the first in this year's Plein Air Mandala series. Come enjoy three and a half hours of creative exploration in the historic town of Lamy, where we'll gather pencils and markers (or whatever YOUR creative medium is) and explore the process of creating plein air mandalas. Whether it's an graffiti'd railroad car, an weathered church steeple, an impossibly crystal blue sky, all these things hold unique energy and significance. Mandalas can help us capture that energy and the unique meaning each image holds for us

In this workshop we will:

1.) Learn the basics behind plein air "mandala-ing". Discover how to look for images that hold resonance for you.

2.) Individually create 2-3 of our own mandalas. Pick your spot(s) and create your mandalas in the medium/style of your choosing.

3.) Come together in group to explore/discuss our creations. Return to the group where we will have group and individual discussion as well as writing exercises geared specifically to help you explore the meaning and messages your mandalas have for you.

4.) Learn how to further use your mandala(s) as a tool for meditation. I'll send you home with further tips and techniques for using your unique mandalas to deepen your inner exploration.

Markers and paper will be provided, or you can bring your own favorite art supplies.

Where: Lamy Depot, Lamy, NM

What to bring: Chair, water, snacks. Markers/templates/journals are provided, or feel free to bring your own particular favorite paper/creative medium.

Dante Jericho is a contemporary mystic, teacher and artist. Her passion is teaching art, via mandala, poetry and collage, as a means of sacred inquiry. She is the founder of Contemplative Collage and has been teaching nationally and online internationally for nearly 20 years. She is the author of “Sacred Changes, Sacred Choices: Meditations from the I Ching.”
