Firehouse Art Gallery

Join us for life drawing sessions at the Firehouse Gallery. Draw from a live model. Sessions begin with the model taking short, athletic poses of 1 or 2 minutes to get everyone warmed up. We will progress with a few 5 and 10 minute poses. The remainder of the session will be 20 minute poses. Cost: Per session $20 for Coastal Arts Guild of CT or Milford Arts Council (MAC) members*. $25 for non-members 6-session pass – pay for 5 sessions, get the 6th session free $100 for Guild or MAC members $125 for non-members Pre-registration – pre-pay for your sessions and save $5 pr session Pre-pay for your sessions here: https://www.coastalartsguildct.com/life-drawing-at-the-firehouse-gallery. Artists need to bring their own materials: charcoal, pens, watercolors, gouache, pencils, and newsprint or sketch pads. Chairs and tables are provided but no easels. Artists may bring a collapsable or French easel. Because of limited space, storage is not available. These sessions are for artists who want to work from a live model, and are open to all levels. No instruction is provided. Please note: photographing the model or attendees is prohibited. Sterling House Community Center

What do you get when you give a bag of castoff ephemera to an artist, with no instructions except to use 75% of the items inside and add whatever they like to it? You get ART of course! Come to our April 2nd meeting to present your finished pieces made from the bag of goodies that was handed out at the March meeting. Didn't get a bag of goodies? Message us and we will let you know how you can get one. Prizes till be awarded in these categories: -Funniest piece -Most creative piece -Best piece that uses only the elements provided. Anyone can bring an art challenge piece but only Guild members are eligible to have their work judged and considered for a show of members’ work which will happen near the end of 2019. Not a member? No problem, the membership application for the Guild can be found at https://www.coastalartsguildct.com/membership-application. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artists For World Peace has asked the Guild to submit more canvases tor their art wall which will go on display in various cities throughout the USA. If you want more information, you can read about their organization here: https://www.artistsforworldpeace.org/our-work This is an ongoing project. The 6x6 4 Peace canvases must be 6” x 6” x ¾”. Bring completed canvases to the March meeting on Tuesday, March 5th. We will deliver all the canvases from the Coastal Arts Guild of CT to Artists for World Peace in Middletown. Non members are welcome to participate. Also, if you’re working on any new work you’d like to share, please bring it along. That includes visual, spoken word, anything that’s an art.
