The art challenge for December is:
Medium: Iron
Theme: History
The challenge is throughout December and up to January 8. Members can use the time before the Post Holiday Party to work on their art challenge.
The iron medium can be any metallic-looking parts, paint or found objects, including the surface you work on. “History" can be any theme that evokes the past, a memory or something forgotten. Completed challenge pieces must be brought to the January Post Holiday Party for display.
Anyone can bring an art challenge piece but only Guild members are eligible to have their work judged and considered for a show of members’ work which will happen near the end of 2019. Not a member? No problem, the membership application for the Guild can be found at https://www.coastalartsguildct.com/membership-application/.
Artists For World Peace has asked the Guild to submit more canvases tor their art wall which will go on display in various cities throughout the USA. If you want more information, you can read about their organization here: https://www.artistsforworldpeace.org/our-work
The 6x6 4 Peace canvases must be 6” x 6” x ¾”. Bring completed canvases to the January Post Holiday Party on January 8. We will deliver all the canvases from the Coastal Arts Guild of CT to Artists for World Peace in Middletown. Non members are welcome to participate.
Also, if you’re working on any new work you’d like to share, please bring it along. That includes visual, spoken word, anything that’s an art.
