What we're about

If you are a coffee lover, then you need to know this word: FIKA (fee-ka). It is a Swedish word that doesn’t translate well to English. It is a noun. It is a verb. And it must be experienced. You go to have a fika. And when you meet for fika, you fika. Followers of the 40 days of Fika series on FortyDaysFika.com & Ashevilleblog.com have been requesting to gather for Fika - so we are delivering! If you would like to slow down, meet some new people, and enjoy a cup o' joe, then come and pull up a chair for some coffee and companionship. Meet us every week at a different location around Asheville and join us for Fika - coffee and friendship. Just look for the Swedish flag on the table! Everyone is welcome!

West End Bakery - West Asheville

West End Bakery

Weekly Wednesday Fika at West End Bakery in West Asheville. If the weather is nice we can sit outside but seating is limited. If not, we do not have a group reservation so there is no guarantee we can sit together inside at one long table. If we sit at multiple tables you can join a small group, and feel free to move to another table later to chat with others. Please be flexible. Parking - any open spot on Haywood Road (not metered) which may be within a block or two, or the paid parking lot next to West End Bakery. This paid lot is $2 per hour, but West End Bakery can validate your parking - and you must get a parking pass from the bakery and apply the validation within 15 minutes of arrival, according to the parking sign.

Liberty Cafe - Small Fika - Thursday October 24 - 2:00 PM

Liberty House Coffee and Café

Wendy is hosting a small Fika at Liberty House Coffee and Cafe in the Charlotte Street area just north of Downtown. We will meet outside, so weather may affect this meetup. There is limited seating inside. The only parking available is on nearby streets, or in the gravel lot across the street, and it may be crowded (The Asheville Yoga center is nearby). If it's a nice day and you enjoy a short walk, you can park at Staples on Merrimon Ave. about two blocks away, or in the Harris Teeter shopping center in the same area. Halloween Special with Costumes - Rejavanation - Candler

Rejavanation Cafe

Let's get ready to celebrate Halloween - wear your favorite costume (optional). Join us for a fun Fika tradition the day before Halloween at Rejavanation in Candler. *** Please read carefully - parking *** Gary, the owner of Rejavanation, has always welcomed our large group. He asks that we park in the shopping center spaces just across from and outside Rejavanation's parking lot. If their parking lot is too full, other customers do not enter - they drive off and leave. We do not want to spoil our welcome by discouraging other customers from visiting this wonderful cafe. If you can, please park outside Rejavanation. If your mobility is limited feel free to park within Rejavanation's parking area. Thank you for your cooperation.

District 42 (Arras Hotel) - Downtown - Small Fika
