Astoria Tech (Virtual) Meetup #19 - Streamlining with Docker Compose

Long time no talk. It's been a whole 5 months since our last meetup! I'm sure most of us have been holed up at home, living that remote life. But now that things are slowly but surely picking up again, we decided it's time to end our COVID hiatus!

(But still keeping it virtual for now. 💻)

This month, we'll be kicking off our return with a bang. We are excited to have Peter Mckee, a manager on the Developer Relations team at Docker, give a talk on Docker Compose!

Besides that, we'll have breakout rooms on Zoom for everyone to talk to each other about anything and everything tech!

TALK DESCRIPTION:

We'll take a look at using Docker Compose to help streamline and simplify the development workflow. We'll set up a local development environment that starts all your services and databases with one command. Then we'll take a look at seamlessly shipping your application to the cloud. He'll do this all with the same Docker Compose commands you know and love.
