What we're about

Are you interested in astronomy but don’t know where to start?
Thinking about buying a telescope but don’t know what to get?
Have you purchased your first telescope and don’t know how to use it?
Would you like some help in learning astrophotography?

Come visit the Astronomical Society of Long Island, at the Vanderbilt Planetarium in Centerport, NY. We meet every Wednesday night at 8 PM. You do not need to have any experience in astronomy, you do not need to join the club to attend meetings, you do not need to own a telescope. Come and hear talks by members and visiting professors, come to our once-a-month observing sessions (If the night is clear) and come ask questions of members and begin to learn about this hobby with the rest of us.
