The Atheist Community of Polk County, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) Florida non-profit Corporation dedicated to protecting the separation of church and state and promoting positive atheist community.

We are a growing community of atheists, freethinkers, skeptics and humanists organizing in Polk County, Florida to network, socialize, work in the community, provide educational speakers and more. We are making efforts to expand our programming, with emphasis on scheduling events in various places around the county, at different days/times, etc so that more people can find something that's convenient and they'll enjoy.

Street Warriors: Winter Haven

Needs a location

Street Warriors: Winter Haven, hosted by the Atheist Community of Polk County is a community service program helping feed people experiencing homelessness in Winter Haven, Fla.

We are asking for one volunteer to provide a hot entree and up to 4 volunteers to help pack and deliver the meals. Everyone meets to pack the food up and then we'll head out into the community. Number of volunteers is limited for coronavirus safety. Masks are required.

It Takes a Village Volunteer Opportunity

Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Volunteers needed for our partnership with the It Takes a Village Coalition delivering food to folks throughout the county experiencing food insecurity and inability to access traditional resources.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
- Volunteers to help unload the truck, sort, and pack food. Arrive @ 8:30 AM

- Volunteers to drive delivery routes, making no-contact drops of food parcels to homes in clusters (appx 5-10 homes per route). We try to make these near your own home. To drive a route you will need to be an approved volunteer and be scheduled ahead of time. Drivers arrive @ 8:45 AM

For social distancing, please stay in your vehicle and we will put the items in your vehicle. Masks are required for all volunteers and gloves are available.
