Humanist Missionaries in Uganda

Details
Brighter Brains Institute (http://brighterbrains.org/)(BBI) - a nonprofit in SF East Bay - has built, partnered with, and "converted" 11 schools to humanism in the Ruwenzori region of western Uganda in the last 2 years, including BiZoHa, "the world's first atheist orphanage."

BBI has also established 11 clinics that offer sex education, free condoms, family planning workshops, fistula surgeries, abortion counseling, and AFRIpads (washable, reusable menstrual pads), plus it's provided start-up funds to five schools so they can sustainably support themselves with businesses. This eye-opening lecture reveals how weak religion is in Subsaharan Africa, if atheists & humanists assert themselves with generosity and creativity.

We meet as always in the banquet room, which is located past the bar area and kitchen down the hallway in the back of the restaurant. Food and drinks are available for purchase, and we have plenty of space for you to dine before, during or after our meeting in the banquet room. We start set up around 6-6:15pm, and are always happy to have extra help in setting up. This, along with joining us for dinner, is a great way for you to meet friendly like-minded people!
This event is totally free, though we do accept donations ( http://sanjoseatheists.org/donate/ ).
