Blockchain disrupting PHRs - 2nd Athens Digital Health (eHealth) Meetup

We welcome you to our 2nd Digital Health meetup in Athens.

We will talk about established public health realities and future trends.

Lately, we've been concerned over the news on controversial health data access by State authorities and we wonder what it would take for our health records to be truly private, controlled by ourselves and safe from the potential manipulation of ill-willing authoritarian rulers. Can blockchain technology be a solution? Is a distributed system feasible for personal health records?We turned to a team of developers from NTUA and asked them whether it can be done.

George Efthymiou from the medical_io team will present their ambitious plan to deliver a distributed PHR system that will provide real data privacy.

Medical uses blockchain technology & cryptographic processes to provide a unique infrastructure to patients’ medical records. We aim at creating a nationwide database and communications framework for the medical sector. Under the proposed technological framework, we can ensure data integrity, protect the privacy of sensitive data & enhance the capabilities of clinical research.
