This group is for anyone who wants to learn basics of Buddhism or want to know how to create a Winning Life by applying Buddhist principles in daily living.

Buddhism originated in the Indian subcontinent around 2,500 years ago. Its teachings derive from Shakyamuni, also known as Gautama or Siddhartha, who dedicated his life to finding the means to liberate people from the universal sufferings of life and develop spiritual strength. His teachings were later compiled into sutras, and numerous schools of Buddhism sprang up as his teachings spread after his death.

The Lotus Sutra is highly revered in the Mahayana tradition that reached East Asia. It emphasizes the bodhisattva ideal of helping others to come to a true understanding of life and clarifies that all people possess the life-state of Buddhahood. Nichiren, a 13th-century Japanese priest, found that the Lotus Sutra contained the fullest expression of Shakyamuni''s compassionate intention.

As practitioners of Nichiren Buddhism, we chant Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo (devotion to Lotus Sutra) to unleash our hidden potential, unlock courage and compassion to transform our lives and create value in our personal life, families and society.

We also meet periodically in small groups to discuss the teachings of Buddhism, and share our real-life experiences of turning around our personal situations - be it Job, marriage, finance, sickness or anything else, by applying the principles of Buddhist study in daily life.

We meet in small groups all over Atlanta, so if you are are interested in finding out more about us, but cannot attend a specific meetup, then please feel free to message me and enquire about an alternative location or time
