After many requests, we are hosting our first weekday Jupyter User Group meeting. Join us on July 24 at General Assembly in Ponce Market for the sixth Jupyter User Group meeting.
This month we feature work from:
- Bob Baxley (the Chief Engineer at Bastille http://rjbaxley.com/) speaking on his work with Keras
- Jovonni Pharr (Data and Security Analyst at State Farm https://github.com/Jovonni) talking about some notebook workflows

- 6pm-6:45pm "Poster session" during this social portion we encourage folks to set up their laptops to share their notebooks or even live program. This is a great time to ask local open source aficionados all of your burning technology questions.

Bob Baxley - Learning Keras through the Kaggle Speech Recognition Challenge
Last winter I participated in the Speech Recognition Challenge held by Kaggle/Google (placed 6th out of 1315 teams). I learned a bunch of Keras and general deep learning tips and tricks through the process. In this talk, I will work through my approach to solving the challenge. I'll also present a few applicable DSP and deep learning concepts like the mel-spectrum, triplet loss functions, and multi-objective training.
Jovonni Pharr - Modeling Cyber security attacks using ML
Jovonni will cover modeling approaches he's taken for a few security projects where the goal is to build a model to catch a specific threat actor techniques.
