What we're about

"Music, healing for the soul, mind and body"

My love of classical music began many years ago when I discovered it's healing, calming and therapeutic properties at a particularly stressful moment in my life. I run this group so all can access this wonderful music genre. This group is ideal for classical music fans and musicians in metro Atlanta who want to find out about the most interesting concerts and events in Atlanta, and attend them.

Concerts featuring orchestral, choral, chamber, opera, and recitals, from the largest concert halls to recital halls at colleges, to churches and coffee houses. Fine arts like classical dance performances/shows also we can jam, play sing and perform together.

Performances of other music varieties in music venues like local bars - genres other than classical music are welcome too.

Many of our events are free of cost or low cost so are very accessible to all.

Members are encouraged to post relevant events on the 'suggest a meetup' section of the website. We encourage any one attending an event to volunteer to hold up the meetup sign (found in the menu under More then Files then Meetup sign to hold up at events) so the group can meet and sit together.

I look forward to seeing you at some wonderful musical events

Best wishes

“Inside the Music” Concert Previews

The Atlanta Symphony provides free 30 minute concert previews before each Thursday classical subscription concert. Hosted by Ken Meltzer, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Insider, the Previews offer an entertaining and informative look at the music featured on the concert program. Special guests often join Ken to offer their unique insights as well. “Inside the Music” previews take place in Symphony Hall (unless otherwise noted - check venue details on Tel:[masked]) Thursday evenings, 7:00-7:30pm.

One of our offline members is a member of the orchestra and is at all (including Thursdays) the performances. She plays viola. She is happy to meet any of our members back stage and meet for a coffee after performances. Her name is Marian Kent and she can be reached on[masked]. She will be happy to hear from any of our group members, just head back stage and ask for her by name.

So if you are in town on a Thursday evening treat yourself to a musical burst from Atlanta Symphony.
