Build a Better Blog with a Static Site Generator

Details

If you want a blog that is fast, scalable and secure, then you should think about using a Static Site Generator to produce it.

The biggest drawback to a static site generator is that it can be a bit hard to set up, but once that's done it becomes easy to produce the fastest experience possible for your readers.

In this talk we'll see exactly how to set up a blog that includes versioning and deployment with Git, easy writing with Markdown plus your favorite text editor, and even some dynamic content like comments via third party services.

Our speaker for tonight is Jeff Ammons. Jeff is President of the Gwinnett, Georgia, Microsoft User Group (ggmug.com (http://ggmug.com/)), a Principal Architect at Sage Software, and Pluralsight author who recently published a course entitled Build a Better Blog with a Static Site Generator (https://www.pluralsight.com/courses/static-site-generator-build-better-blog).

In this talk Jeff will share with us exactly what we need to know to set up our own blogs with a static site generator!
