If you have wanted learn more about color gel photography, than this months meet up is for you. They're called gels from the early days of theater lighting, when they were made with colored gelatin dried into thin sheets. Gels modify light in specific ways. They can affect the character or color of the incoming light. Gels can be utilized to reproduce scenes or specific light conditions for special creative purposes.
Typical uses for color-effect gels would be setting mood, think The Matrix Movies, or for special effects, such as simulating fire or the green glow of a radar screen. The fundamentals of Color Theory are important to know when it comes to Gels. Remember that complimentary colors create the most pleasing color combinations in visual arts.
