“Enter the Microverse” is a group art show hosted by The Odd’s End, at 2774 East College Avenue in Decatur, GA. Local artists are showcasing works correlating to microcosmic universes of their own design. The show runs from Thursday, March 28th, through Sunday, March 31st.
Featured artists include Ryan Shuckhart, Pam Peacock, Erica Malmsten, Lacye Brown, Mason McNay, Larry Holland, Robert McRae, Beth Watson, Danny Simanjaya, and more. Works range from pen and ink illustrations, to mixed media sculpture, to custom picture books printed and bound by hand. From living creatures mummified and preserved, to lonely cosmic planetscapes, viewers will have the opportunity to step into fully formed and functioning worlds unique to each artist’s experience.
Whether you like fairy tales, sunken pirate treasure, sad songs from home, bugs on a stick, or just the pretty colors in the night sky, this show has something for anyone and everyone of all ages.
Artists will be available for comments, critiques, and autographs during the event, and visitors will also have the opportunity to become part of the show with time set aside for poetry readings and musical performances on Friday and Saturday night. All contributors welcome.
The shop itself will be sporting its usual disarray of oddities, including but not limited to religious accoutrements, true crime memorabilia, Victorian medical equipment and the traps and dressings of secret societies. The seasoned collector and the newly curious will find themselves equally enthused by the eccentricity and obscurity of items found here and nowhere else.
So join us at the end of March and feel free to bring your own universe to share.
