Getting Pushy with SignalR
Users are increasingly demanding real time communication in their web applications. HTML5 brings with it WebSockets and ServerSendEvents, but browser support varies between modern browsers. If you don’t have the luxury of targeting just the latest and greatest, you have to resort to some sort of polling implementation. To bridge this divide, Microsoft introduced SignalR to automatically scale between each of these technologies allowing developers to focus on implementing site functionality. We’ll introduce you to SignalR and show you some of the capabilities it brings to your web applications.
