From: Marc M.
Sent on: Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:38 AM

Thanks to Josh Gough we have added a couple of new installments of our “Earth at the Crossroads” Great Courses DVD series to the calendar. Please check them out.

I’m currently working on bookings for the new year and will post them as soon as arrangements are finalized and descriptions become available. Here’s a preview of some of the topics we have in store or that are under consideration:

  • the physics of space elevators
  • the art and manufacture of glass in the ancient world
  • robotics and locomotion across complex terrain
  • insect ecology and monarch butterflies
  • NASA’s plans for unmanned space exploration
  • medical ethics and the infamous Tuskegee experiment
  • the promise of thorium reactors

In addition we will be featuring science cafes that we are developing with our partners from the European consulates here, as well as a “behind the scenes” field trip or two.

Follow us on Twitter @sciencetavern or our Facebook page.

See you at the Tavern!
Marc
