First face 2 face Auckland Open Source Meetup and social

Details
Our initial meeting will be an unconference style meeting with a casual agenda. This provides a chance for a meet and greet with a chance to discuss the kinds of content and speakers you'd all like to see at future events. Then we'll adjourn to a nearby bar for a drink and social.
As a representative of the NZ Open Source Society, Steven will also provide an overview of NZOSS (https://nzoss.org.nz) and some of their historical and recent activities.
In addition NZOSS operate a range of services that other local source projects can leverage including RocketChat (https://chat.nzoss.nz), Mastodon (https://mastodon.nzoss.nz), and GitLab (https://git.nzoss.org.nz).
For future sessions the purpose of this meet up is to let people learn and teach about Free and Open Source Software and Hardware they're working with, contributing to, or curious about, as well as other forms of Open Source advocacy and activities (like CodeClubs, hackfests, makerspaces).
We'll be doing talks, demos, and open discussion. Topics - I hope we'll encounter most of these during any given session - can be introduction-to-FOSS related, deeply technical, related to employment, specific software applications, FOSS on Linux, Windows, OS X and elsewhere. It might include installing software for people, helping them figure out how to use it once it's there, hacking on specific code bases, learning how to make open source contributions, learning how to use developer tools, and other stuff. Remember, like FOSS itself, this group is community driven - if people come along and want to do or discuss something, we'll do it!
