What we're about

Welcome to the Auckland 20s & 30s Social Group! We're one of the most popular and active social groups for young people in New Zealand.

The group is for people looking to meet others in their 20s and 30s and have fun together. Please note that this is not a dating group though, we offer a safe environment to meet new people and make friends.

Whether you are new to Auckland, a busy working professional, or simply keen to try new activities it all boils down to the same thing – finding a group of like minded people and finding it fast.

We run a huge variety of events on a regular basis including drinks, theatre, pool, yoga, salsa, tennis, rock climbing, brunch, food events, art exhibitions, sketching, bingo social nights, quiz nights and girls mingle events.

We're a not for profit group run entirely by voluntary organisers.

If this sounds of interest then please join our group (note an identifiable photo of yourself is mandatory), though please note a few key rules...

- Do turn up. All our events are run by volunteers and many have limited spaces available. If you RSVP that you are attending then please do so, or update your status before the event starts. No shows risk losing their membership

- Do check in. We like to keep our group active, please do check in regularly to see what events are coming up

- Do speak up. Please do let us know if there is anything we can improve upon, or if you have any issues at all at one of our events, or with people contacting you inappropriately and they will be dealt with

Look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

We have a new beginner intake between the 30th Jan and the 20th February 2019 so book your space now! This Irish dance class is for adults only but you don't need any sort of previous dance experience. It is a fun workout and a great social event. Games Night Evolution

Cakes and Ladders

Games Night has been one of my most popular meetups and I can’t thank you guys enough for your continuous attendance and support for my, most of the time, unorganized event… I mean I don’t even know why you guys still show up? Anyway, believe it or not, I’m always making strides to improve Games Night, and I think I’ve found a new way to organize events where new players won’t get overwhelmed by the various games, while the more experienced players will get a chance to play more rule heavy games. So when you join you will be asked a question on your level of experience with boardgames on a scale of one to five. 1 – Complete Noob, haven’t even touched a die before. 2 – Played a few games like Scrabble and Monopoly, does that count? 3 – I know some games, but only played them once or twice. 4 – An experienced gamer, but I don’t think I can actually teach the games to others. 5 – Expert, wouldn’t mind teaching others how to play a couple of games. Then on the night, I will put you into groups based on your level of experience, which will be hosted by a random Rulemaster/Level 5 Gamer. So please arrive at Cakes and Ladders by 7:15, because if you are late you will have to find your own fun. I started these events to meet new people and hopefully make some new friends along the way, but I’ve noticed that I can’t do that if I’m constantly running around checking on others. So now it’s time for some tough love. Hope this works, I am making this stuff up as I go along ^_^ Cheers, Chris P.S: Cakes and Ladders charges $2.50 an hour to play.
