If you are a writer/author who values giving and receiving constructive criticism this is for you! All genres welcome!
Our goal is encouraging and motivating other writers by providing constructive feedback to help writers tune their skills, improve their writing, and be part of a rewarding community!
- We also host writing workshops and special writing events to invoke your muse and inspire!

Writing Prompt Wednesdays is about getting your creative juices flowing. Every First Wednesday, a new Writing Prompt will be sent out via meetup!
This is not a live event, it is strictly a meetup prompt at this point in time, but that may change in the future.

This is a virtual/skype critique meetup for writers!
Submission guidelines:
2000 words (approximate)
Doublespaced word doc
Deadline: Tuesday 5pm EST
Email to: [masked]
Critiques are accessed by participants via google drive. The link will be sent out by Thursday at noon from meetup. **NOTE: this email contains a hyperlink and is frequently filtered to junk folders.
***Meetup etiquette:
-Choose one main talking point during the meeting
-Keep critique brief (no more than 5 mins)
-If someone else has already touched on that point, please discuss a different point.
-Please be constructive with feedback
--Inappropriate and/or shaming comments will result in being blocked and banned from the group
-Adhering to these rules will ensure that everything that needs to be addressed about the submission can be, and that everyone has a chance to speak and add something meaningful to the discussion.

In Epic of Helinthia, five heroes make plans to rebel against the king to win the favor of the gods and restore prosperity to their ravaged island, but they soon discover that not all the gods want them to succeed, leading them on a journey full of danger, deception, and the wrath of both gods and men. Imbued with the essence of Homer's epic, the Iliad, MJ Pankey's gods, goddesses, heroes, and heroines come alive in all of their flawed complexities to deliver a page-turning narrative that will keep readers on the edge of their seat 'til the very end.
Epic of Helinthia owes much of its success to AWCG's faithful members, who enthusiastically critiqued chapters and supported MJ Pankey week after week to help her polish it into what it is today.
Epic of Helinthia publishes 1 October 2023, but Bookish Atlanta invites you to a special opportunity to purchase an early signed copy and learn more about MJ! Formats available will be paperback, hardcover, and large print.
L.E. Harper's Kill Your Darlings is an adult portal fantasy about an author who gets trapped in the world she has created and must battle to find a way to curtail the devastating ending she has devised for her darlings before it's too late!
