• A 13 mile Day Walk from the Shrine of St Jude Faversham to Wye, arriving in time for the Festival Pilgrim Feast. The route takes us through woodland and pasture (including the famous King's Wood) before descending the Downs to Wye. There are a number of interesting village churches along the way such as St James's Sheldwich, where we will be welcomed by fellow Augustine Camino pilgrims. Also en route is All Saints, Boughton Aluph which includes the porch where pilgrims used to gather before crossing King's Wood together for safety (hopefully this will not be necessary on our walk!). Lunch will be at the Red Lion Badlesmere
• What to bring
Water, sunscreen, waterproof, small rucksack, picnic (if not requiring lunch at the pub).
• Important to know
The walk is free but the Pilgrim Feast costs 8 pounds per person and should be booked separately here bit.ly/PilgrimsFeastWye
Faversham is on the mainline to London from Margate. Wye is on the other mainline between Ashford and Canterbury (it is possible to return to Faversham by train via Canterbury). There is also parking at each end of the route.
