What we're about

Aurora Ambles is a Chapter of Colorado-based Walk2Connect (http://www.Walk2Connect.com (http://www.walk2connect.com/)). We provide free community walking, hiking, and rambling trips in and throughout Arapahoe and Adams County, CO, with a focus on connections to others, to the places we live, and to ourselves.

Find information about all of our upcoming events right here in our Meetup group as well as on the Walk2Connect events calendar ( https://www.walk2connect.com/find_a_walk ), and follow us on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/Walk2Connect ), Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/walk2connect/ ), and Twitter (https://twitter.com/Walk2Connect (https://www.facebook.com/Walk2Connect)) for photos, stories, related articles, and more.

Interested in leading conversational walks, hikes, or rambles in your own community and throughout Adams or Arapahoe County? Take our online training ( https://www.walk2connect.com/lead ) to become a Walking Movement Leader with Walk2Connect.

Check back often as new walks will be added throughout the year. Have a great idea for a walk? We'd love to hear from you! Thanks, and I hope to meet you out on a walk soon!

Weekly Aurora Amble

Aurora Central Library

TYPE: STSP Weekly | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Mostly paved trail, some grass/dirt trail, some road | DISTANCE: Slightly less than 4 mi | CHANGE OF START TIME, SEE BELOW! PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING COVID-19: There is a new Welcome Waiver that you should sign before coming back to walk (It is here: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/551db32416402/web/ ), and Walk2Connect is asking that all participants wear masks and carry hand sanitizer with them at all times during the walks. We will be adhering to the social distancing protocols as well. If you have ANY sign of illness, including a fever, cough or other cold symptoms, please stay home and take care of yourself. We want for everyone to be safe! * * *Starting on Saturday 9/19/20, we will be moving the start time of the walk up to 7:00 am, for the next few weeks. We will move it up later as the weather continues to cool down. Walking in the heat is not fun, but it's also no fun when it's too cold! * * *IF THE WEATHER IS IFFY, CHECK THE CALENDAR HERE BEFORE HEADING OUT TO THE WALK. I WILL CANCEL NO LATER THAN AN HOUR BEFORE OUR START TIME. YOU MAY ALSO TEXT ME TO ASK[masked] One of our longest standing walks, rebooted with new Walk Leader Robin. Come and explore parts of the High Line Canal and Aurora city streets. We have a range of colorful participants including a host of friendly and inviting regulars. Walk Leader: I am excited to lead the Aurora Amble 2.0. If you have questions or concerns about weather you can reach Robin at[masked]. (It is easier for me to reply to a text than to answer the phone during a work day, but please do feel free to call or text, and do leave a message if I cannot answer.) Schedule & Parking: We will meet at 7:00 am in the parking lot of the Aurora Central Library. We’ll introduce ourselves, and answer questions before the walk. Please plan to arrive slightly before 7:00 am as we will leave NO LATER than 7:05 am. We should be done walking no later than 8:30 am. The library is currently closed, so the restroom will not be available, however, currently there are porta-potties near the library (I am not sure how long those will be there, though). Trip Notes: - Dogs welcome: We will be walking a loop going back to our starting location. Please consider whether your dog can handle 4 miles when walking in this season and insure that your dog is calm, well-behaved and MUST stay leashed. Please be sure to bring baggies for picking up after your dog. - Consider bringing: comfortable socks & shoes, light backpack w/ plenty of water and snacks, layers appropriate for temperature and weather, sunglasses or hat and sunscreen as there is not much shade on the path. Do bring a camera, we often see wildlife (rumor has it a bald eagle frequents the route). NEW Welcome Waivers: Please fill out the online Welcome Waiver before you come on a walk. If this is your first time walking with this trip leader, please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to connect and learn more about the walk. RSVP: You can RSVP one of two ways 1) Here on Meetup or 2) Texting Robin at[masked]. If you RSVP here on Meetup, when I cancel a walk you will get an email notification that I have done so. Be sure to check your email for a cancellation notice. You are welcome to text me in the morning to check status or confirm the walk is going. But remember, no news is good news. We go unless otherwise notified. A little weather does not bother me, and I love walking in the rain, but bitter cold and wind does not make for a fun walk.
