3/14/19 – Writing Dialogue, Feedback from MD and Learning from Don Keith.

Thanks to Charo for joining us last week. We look forward to see her again.

Last week had a good discussion on “vivid writing” which we defined as “prose that produces powerful feeling and clear images in the mind.” Several positive and negative examples were discussed along with reminder to engage all of the reader's senses to create a engaging story.

Tonight and next week we will be looking into the topic of writing dialogue. Robert Mckee's section on the subject from is book “Story” will be our starting point tonight. Hopefully, we will be able to screen a few movie clips and discuss them as well.

MD will also be providing us with some information he gathered from a writer’s event he attended.

Recall Don Keith, the author behind the Hollywood movie “Hunter Killer,” will be speaking to our group April 6th. Tickets are limited and can be obtained from MD tonight.

People continue to post work on the Slack Web site. Please take a look at it and provide appropriate feedback. You must come to at least one meeting to be invited to the Slack site.

The following is our purposed format into April. It’s flexible and we can adjust as is needed. If you want work critiqued or help in your story development let me know so we can plan ahead if possible.
