What we're about

AcroYoga is a combination of yoga, acrobatics, Thai Massage, and the creative-process. The Austin AcroYoga community has gathering to play since 2011.

We meet every Friday night 7:30pm-2:30am to Jam. Jams are open-play (open practice) times where there is no structure or instruction. The Friday jam is free or donation. You do not need experience or a partner to show-up. Come and go as you please. We do opening circle at 9pm, so if it's your first time to our Jam, please be there for opening circle.

A professional film crew recently featured us in a 1 minute film titled, "What is AcroYoga?" (http://youtu.be/AakoEVKizLY)

Show-up sometime- you'll love it!

Some people feel more comfortable joining our community in a more formal instructional setting at first. If you feel like that, instructional resources are below:

Friday Acro Jam at Austin Gymnastic Club (Vaccinated)

Austin Gymnastics Club

AAA is reopening our Friday night jams to anyone who has their card (or a picture of their card) showing they are fully vaccinated. This is new and things will change as the CDC and City of Austin update their guidance.
The City of Austin defines "fully vaccinated" as "an individual who has completed their COVID-19 vaccination course and at least two weeks have passed since their last dose." If you're not yet finished being vaccinated, you will have to wait until you are. We look forward to when we can all play together soon!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Vaccine cards: Cards will be checked at the door- be sure to bring your card or a picture!

Masks: Masks will be mandatory in higher stages of covid and optional in lower stages of covid. Check the facebook group (see below) or leave a comment if you'd like to know the current mask requirement.

Safety notes:
- Remember, our bodies may not be ready to hop back into acro at your pre-pandemic level. Be careful with yourself and others as we explore and grow!
- Reconnecting after isolation can be intense. Not everyone is ready for full hugs right away. Take some extra time to check in before touching.

=================
Acroyoga is partner acrobatics mixed with techniques from yoga, gymnastics, dance, cheer, and even healing arts such as Thai massage. It's more fun than you thought possible, and more accessible than you think!
Join us for open play, goofiness, rad skills, and new friends! Spend the evening working on what moves you - acro, hooping, juggling, dancing, tumbling, and more. All levels welcome, and no partner or experience necessary.
This is a donation-based jam - if you can, please chip in to help us cover the cost of the space!
You can fill out our waivers at the door, or fill them out online in advance: https://www.acroyogaaustin.org/waivers/
You can also ask a Jambassador wearing a yellow wristband for assistance at any time during the evening.
For Austin-area acro discussion, community announcements, and more, please join our main Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AcroYogaATX/

Wednesday Acro Jam (Vaccinated)

Bull Creek District Park

Let's meet and do acro after work under the oak trees at the far end near the restrooms at Bull Creek District Park. Bring your puzzle mats if you have them or just yourself.

I'll bring lights to acro until 9pm after the sun sets.

For now this jam will require you to show a photo of your vaccine card showing you are fully vaccinated your first time you come. Fully vaccinated means at least 2 weeks past your last dose. Children under 12 are allowed.

Please bring a mask as the hospitals are full. An n95, kn95, or reusable mask with a 95% effective filter is preferred over a cloth mask without a filter or a surgical style mask. When we return to stage 3 we will almost certainly go back to mask optional but continue the fully vaccinated requirement.

We will consider dropping the fully vaccinated requirement when we return to stage 1. The plan is that this jam will relocate to its normal location in the Domain when it is safe to drop the vaccination requirement.

Others RSVP to this event on other platforms like Facebook, so don't worry if you don't see many rsvps here.
