What we’re about
This group is operated by Autism Society of Texas for Autistic adults who reside in Texas. This group, which is facilitated by the Autism Society of Texas (AST), is for adults (18 years old and up) with various disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, and other social challenges who want to be more socially active. The group is inclusive of all disabilities and plans fun and affordable events that everyone can take part in. Our meetings mainly consist of informal group discussions and hands-on activities related to transition, soft skills, executive functioning, self-regulation strategies, self-advocacy. The meetings also function as an opportunity for attendees to simply connect on their own terms, and to provide peer support for one another in their own space.
At this time, the majority of our meetings are still being held virtually.
If you are a parent/caregiver and plan to join on behalf of someone else who requires assistance using MeetUp, we absolutely understand and would be happy to accept your request! Otherwise, we strongly prefer to accept requests from prospective attendees themselves.
If you have any questions or needs regarding local resource providers, diagnosis, therapists or groups in your area, please reach out to our Navigating Autism team at support@texasautismsociety.org
