What we're about

This group is operated by Autism Society of Texas (9/16/2021). This group, which is facilitated by the Autism Society of Texas (AST), is for adults (18 years old and up) with various disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, and other social challenges who want to be more socially active. The group is inclusive of all disabilities and plans fun and affordable events that everyone can take part in. Our meetings mainly consist of informal group discussions and hands-on activities related to transition, soft skills, executive functioning, self-regulation strategies, self-advocacy. The meetings also function as an opportunity for attendees to simply connect on their own terms, and to provide peer support for one another in their own space. AST now offers Houseparty trivia nights, guest speaker presentations, and more.

At this time, the majority of our meetings are still being held virtually. You will find directions on how to join Google Meet video chats contained within the upcoming MeetUp event descriptions.

If you are a parent/caregiver and plan to join on behalf of someone else who requires assistance using MeetUp, we absolutely understand and would be happy to accept your request! Otherwise, we strongly prefer to accept requests from prospective attendees themselves.
