Abstract:

Apache Flink+Kafka: From zero to stream processing

Apache Flink adoption is on a tear lately. Interested in understanding stream processing and real-time data? Want to know how to create a simple stream processor using Apache Flink and Apache Kafka?

Kenny Gorman, Founder and CEO of Eventador.io will present a session on how to get started with stream processing using Apache Flink. He will help you understand the various components of the Apache Flink architecture, deployment options, and how to write a simple stream processor line by line. If you are curious about how to get started writing stream processing applications, this talk will lead you through it.

He will compare and contrast various stream processing platforms and options to help you understand where Flink fits in, what it's good at, and what it's not. Kenny will show you various configuration options, some gotcha's, and introduce the Flink Datastream API. You will leave ready to write your own stream processing applications, or supercharge your existing applications.
