Nick will talk about his experience developing a Clojure app and deploying it to Digitial Ocean.
Topic: Reid McKenzie (https://twitter.com/arrdem) - Project Oxcart
A field report from Clojure in Clojure The last two years have seen a lot of work on "Clojure in Clojure": an ongoing attempt to build a Clojure compiler in Clojure, thus making the Clojure language more open to extension, experimentation and presenting a path to unifying Clojure's various implementations.
This talk will present the current state of the Clojure in Clojure project, in terms of the "tools.emitter.jvm" library and its capabilities, as well as my own "Project Oxcart", an attempt to build an optimizer for Clojure in Clojure. Rather than focus on the technical details of Oxcart, this talk will attempt to present Clojure in Clojure more generally, discussing Clojure in Clojure's capabilities for enabling static program analysis and transformation, including examples from the Oxcart project and concluding with some commentary on the state of Clojure in Clojure as a future replacement for `Compiler.java` and a case for its continued development.
We'll be discussing our plans for an Austin ClojureBridge (http://www.clojurebridge.org/) workshop after the meeting
Thanks again to Capital Factory for giving us a space to meet at!
