We are going beyond wine for our March event and exploring the flavors and complexities of Irish and Scottish Whiskies! You are invited to join us for our group's first whisky tasting! Our whiskies will be served with small bite food pairings at one of Austin's newest spots. The Cask is a downtown bar with a cool "speakeasy" atmosphere, but unlike most pubs, this one is quickly getting known for their exceptional small plates, in addition to their whiskies - a nice high/low mix! Our event includes 5 whiskies: 2 Irish and 3 Scotch plus appetizer pairings. A "Spirit Guide" will be available to walk us through each bottle and impart some whisky knowledge. Like our beloved wines, whiskies have a unique range and depth of flavors and characteristics. Unlike American whiskey, which usually has a sweeter, maltier flavor, Irish and Scottish whisky is not only spelled differently, it's flavor profile is also distinguishable, often times being lighter and drier. Come learn and experience these exciting tastes for yourself! Located on West 6th, there is street parking and nearby surface lots. (There is also a lot at 6th and Guadalupe that is just a block away and the Chase garage entrance at 5th between Guadalupe and Lavaca.) If you are drinking, however, we always suggest taking an Uber or having a designated driver. Please plan to arrive at or before 6:30pm on 3/28/19. Payment is due upon RSVP. Payment includes event, menu as described above, tax, tip and fees. Additional food and/or drinks on individual bills. Refunds for cancellations will be honored until 5pm 3/21/19 only. By signing up for this event, you agree to release this group and all involved from any and all liability.
