Austin Harmony is thrilled to announce Greg A. Hilliard Jr. as our new director! “I am excited about this new journey. I'm incredibly passionate about barbershop harmony, and I'm thrilled I have a new home in sharing my passion! Austin Harmony is a chorus on the rise, and I'm looking forward to continue to help foster the growth of the chorus' musicianship, and to lead these fantastic ladies who 'harmonize the world' on and off the risers!” The Austin Harmony Chorus (http://www.austinharmony.org) is always looking for ladies who enjoy singing. No formal musical training is expected of you; music knowledge is helpful but not required. We provide all the tools necessary for each member to learn her part in every song we sing. We have open rehearsals at the Memorial United Methodist Church on Monday nights from 6:30-9:30 p.m. We're on the side with the blue awning, in the room at the end of the building closest to the street. First-time visitors, please arrive at least 30 minutes earlier for voice-placement (not an audition!) and time to mix & mingle and get settled before we start singing. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Please note, while we all try to update our Meetup attendance, we're not perfect! You should expect around 20 other women attending each Monday night, on average. For immediate updates email us at [masked]. Although we rehearse at a church, there are no religious requirements or restrictions associated with our chorus. Austin Harmony Chorus's remarkable journey began with a vision shared by six women, and chartered as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International with 27 members on October 17, 2005. We perform many different types of music, from broadway show tunes to the popular music of yesterday and today. If you'd like the chance to learn to sing together in 4-part harmony, please consider visiting one of our rehearsals. We think you might just want to keep coming back!
