Allied Austin Activists,

Your help is needed to stop a draconian ordinance from passing through the Austin City Council! Tomorrow, 10am (show up early to sign up to speak) @ City Hall (301 W. 2nd St.), our overlords will be voting on item 90, which states;

“A driver of a motor vehicle may not use a wireless communication device to view, send, or compose an electronic message or engage other application software while operating a motor vehicle.”

http://www.ci.austin....

They had already voted to ban texting while driving which is set to take effect on January 1st. Texting however is not enough. It’s for your own good you know. The new ban will take away your ability to use your phones as a GPS provider and also bans the use of phone with mp3 capabilities and any other use you can think of besides talking. (which will probably go next year if we allow this exponential rise of intrusion to continue)

Here’s what you can do to help:

1. Show up tomorrow @ 9:50 am and sign up to speak or simply register your opposition to item 90. Cheer on those speaking against the measure. Bring hand written signs if you would like!

2. Call and/or email the City Council offices (numbers and email provided below), let them know you are vehemently opposed to Item 90, the Phone Use Ban, and you strongly recommend that they vote against the measure. (this is something that I would hope everyone who reads this message to this point will engage in. Participate folks. A phone call can go a long way at the local level. We need your help!)

3. Spread this email like wildfire to all of your Austin lists and contacts NOW!

This draconian measure goes way too far and MUST be stopped.

(DISCLAIMER) The time for armchair patriotism is over! Our republic is in shambles and may soon fall to the forces of tyranny. We must act now to secure what is the closest man has come to a free society in the history of civilization. Every victory counts in this effort. I challenge you to re-dedicate yourselves to the cause of liberty. This battle is bigger than any one of us. Join the resistance! Take Action! Fulfill your inherent right to be free and defend it at all costs!!
